Looking for a fun and healthy activity during this pandemic? Get outside and dig in the dirt! Fresh air, sunshine and soil are a fabulous trifecta that can build health and support optimal immune function.

Now that just about every school, sporting event and social gathering has been canceled due to the Corvid19 pandemic, you’ve no doubt have some extra time on your hands. Its time to get back to our roots, your ancestors grew food and you can too.

While the stores may be out of hand sanitizer and toilet paper, I’m still seeing plenty of packets of seeds for sale. It’s that time of year, as the days grow longer and the soil is warmer, to plant some seeds.

If you need veggie gardening guidance, there are more You Tube videos on this topic than is humanely possible to ever watch in a life time! One of my favorite gardening heroes is Costa Georgiadis, he’s one of the stars of Gardening Australia. Sadly we do not have a show here in the US that comes close.

Here’s a few of my favorites that you can direct seed here in the northeast at this time of the year. Follow the directions on the package.

Peas, Carrots, Radish, Beets, Chard, Cilantro, Spinach, Salad greens.

When it comes to flu viruses, sunshine is a good friend. Get outside and grow something!
